This year's Otafest is better then I'd expected. I'd actually more then doubled the profit I did than last year! So I feel quite proud of myself :3
But the thing is, half of my prints were from over 2 year old drawings I made and some even were from back in high school xD. It still somehow manages to sold out by the end of otafest... which I didn't expect!

Anyway, here's what happened:





I didn't actually go to the 1st day of Otafest. Well it was technically half a day from 6pm to midnight I think, but me, , , , and Dan went to VGL (short for video games live) instead! It was pretty much the same from the last time I went, cept they added a couple more songs to it.
I didn't slept on that day, maybe running on 3 hours of sleep because I was STILL working on prints for Otafest...
VGL ended around 11pm... and I decided I should finish one more print so I went home and never slept at all D:




So at 8am with no sleep at all, I finally finished the print and emailed them to a friend who will print them all out and deliver it to me hopefully before 10am at the artist alley section of otafest.
I COULD have finished it hours before, but I made a mistake of playing some SF4 and Brawl when i got home =___=
So at 9:amish, me, , and left the house and got driven there by a good friend of mine Leo ...I was pretty late compared to all the artists that was already set up an hour ago. I didn't expect that there would be a lot of people that would show up early >_o
The worse part is... i have to wait til around 10:15 am for my friend to arrive with my prints D: so I was practically missing some valuable time for people to look at my table >_<
Another thing is... I MISSED OUT on the sign ups for the Brawl tourney, so I never played some games today =\
Pompay was out and about with her Shiva cosplay, and I was spending most of my time at artist alley.
The day went by so fast!
One time, I fell asleep sitting up on my chair for 10 mins because I didn't get no sleep at all... it was a good thing that Leo and my roommate Luc, were watching the tables and dealing with costumers when I wasn't there.
I noticed I didn't eat ANYTHING since 6pm on friday, so I got myself some A&W at the food court... AFTER artist alley closed down around 6pmish.

Went straight home and slept...




Woke up at around 8am, I could have SWEAR that i slept for only a couple of hours but they told me I was out like a light since around 8pm-9pmish?
Anyway, I was late at Artist Alley AGAIN, but this time, I was able to setup my table in no time :3
At around 11am, I got a phone call from my house where acquaintances staying at my place told me my pet cat who was an INDOOR cat manages to slip away outside and she was in heat O_O. They said they were looking for almost an hour now and said they will continue searching... me and Pompay got really pissed off because we didn't get our cat fixed and she could end up pregnant. But anyway, I finally signed up for Sunday's Brawl tourney around 12, and yes... it was the SAME goddamn rules as it was last year D:
(all items INCLUDING the smash ball, 5min timed, random levels)
As expected, I lost on my first fight =\ and I learned it's not how skilled you are at the game... it's how CHEAP you are that determines who wins >_o ...so my Fox got pwned, and I got 3rd place as a result =\

After that, I spend my time at Artist Alley again, and I did wander around this time looking for something to buy at other tables of awesome artists.
I bought a print from the one he did with Kakashi. It was so epic I just had to have it!! Someday, I will be as skilled as this man... I shall even TRY and be as skilled as him before Otafest 2010 comes by xD.

Then, 's Samus, and Felicia prints caught my eye, but I didn't really want to buy them at the moment because she and her bf, look so busy with their crowds of costumers crowding their table xD
UNTIL... and decided to buy it and lined up. So I might as well join the line, when I realize I was short of money on me so I quickly rushed back to my table xD. While I was doing that, I accidentally bumped into a table beside and pretty hard and they had to look up to see what the hell was that, so I was like FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU (in my head) because I thought I'd messed them up on what they were drawing on at the time >_<
In some chains of bad luck, got the last copy of the Samus print but I did get my Felicia... ehehe...

So... at the end of Artist Alley on sunday, we all went to the closing ceremony where unexpectedly won 2nd place for her cosplay of Shiva. I feel so proud for her because for years, she wanted to win a ribbon for once, and now she did!
When we came back home, we immediately split up and went out searching for our black cat in the neighborhood. I was holding a pet dish tapping on it saying "here kitty kitty!!" *making smooching sound* and I'm not joking around, but that's how our pet cats come to us.
After an hour of walking around up to 4 blocks away from our house looking for my pet cat, we gave up and went back home.
Surprisingly, she came back just sitting outside our front door xD at around 10pm and we all know that she has been "busy" for most of the day with other cats... and I think she is... pregnant.

Yea, I feel pretty proud this year in Otafest, and I hope otafest 2010 will be even better. Hell, I'd even want to cosplay next year even though I'm not the cosplaying type, so Otafest 2010 maybe my first year for me to cosplay. I met old friends and classmates while I was there, and even chatted to artists I haven't chatted with even though I've known them at otafest for years... =_=
Next year, I'll be a little more alive and wake, and I'll try to be a better artist then I am right now. I can't wait for Otafest 2010 already >_o... Pompay will be hosting a Japanese style fashion show too!! so 2010 will be a fun year hehe.
I will also be going to Animethon in August, and I don't think I'm quite confident on my art to sell there... plus it's pretty expensive to go there and back and to profit in artist alley? I don't think I'll profit much from it... maybe in 2010 I guess.

Anyway, I shall continue uploading my art on dA, my goal now is to post at least once a week here... I didn't buy a 12 months subscription on DA for nothing >:3
So I shall see all of you guys around...
